Overview

The 9 Locks 10K Challenge is a gritty, scenic, point-to-point run that takes you from Stourbridge to Brierley Hill along the historic canal route once powered by the Industrial Revolution. It’s a fun, social event, but make no mistake: this is a genuinely challenging experience, especially when you hit the famous nine-lock climb in the final stretch. It’s not to be underestimated, yet absolutely worth every step once you reach the finish and feel that surge of achievement. With its mix of leafy paths, industrial character, and a one-off medal waiting at the end, it’s a standout 10K that leaves you both tested and proud.

Start Area (DY8 4LU)

08:00 Registration opens for toilets and bib collection - This will be at The Bonded Warehouse
FROM 09:30 onwards Race Starts. (Dependant on numbers, this may start earlier.)
People will feed through the start area.
Approx.: 11:30 - 12:00 onwards - Last runners will start (Dependant on number of entries)

NB: Parking at the Hop House incurs charges.
Parking at the Waterfront Car park is FREE - Please use post code DY5 1XA
Subject to change the below will take place...
08:30 - 8:45 - 1st Coach will start loading and leave once full for the start area.
08:45 - 09:00 - 2nd Coach will start loading and leaves once full for the start area.
09:00 - 09:15 - 3rd Coach will load and leave once full.
Coaches will circle until all persons are transported.
IF you DO NOT require transport please make your way to the start area.

Park at the Finish Area Waterfront - Brierley Hill - DY5 1 XD
Toilets are available in Wetherspoons / Hop House.
We will then provide coach transport for you for FREE to the Start line in Stourbridge.
Here you will get your race bib, and prepare yourself for a seeded start to the event.

If you live in or near Stourbridge....

Book return coach transport for AFTER you finish the event and we get get you back.

F.A.Q's

When will we get race information?
This will be send via email from 7 days prior to the event.
Is there a bag drop?
There is a bag drop. Please note you will finish before the bag drops gets to the finish area.
What times does coach leave?
We have planned for the 1st coach to leave at 08:30, and the 2nd 08:45. A 3rd coach 9:00, these will then cycle around until everybody is transported to the start area.
How Long is the journey?
10 - 15 minutes, if that, dependant on the route the coach takes and the traffic.
How many coaches are there?
We are looking at 3 coaches, which will continuously circle until all competitors are collected. (53 seaters)
Is there an additional charge for the coach?
No, it is part of your race fee.
What time does the event start?
From 09:30 - but you can start at your leisure so please don't panic.
Are there toilets?
Yes, Please use limited toilets in the Bonded Warehouse.
Finish area, please use Weatherspoon's toilets.

Is Car parking free?
If you park in the larger car parking area on the Waterfront, there is free parking.
If you park near the Hop house, you will need to pay via an app/website www.good2go.com
What times does registration open?

Where is registration?
Registration will take place at the Bonded Warehouse.
Where's my bib?
Collection of the bibs are on the day.
Is there a water station?
Yes at the 5km / halfway point
Can I enter on the day?
There are very limited places and we are unable to guarantee a medal for you.
